The Sound Beach Civic Association

The Sound Beach Civic Association is a domestic, not-for-profit organization founded in 1974.

We are dedicated to promoting and advancing activities that improve our quality of life. We strive to encourage a sense of community and work with local and state officials to identify those projects best suited for our hamlet.

In addition to the Vets Memorial—a project that will soon be completed—it was through the efforts of the Civic and others that we are now part of the North Shore Public Library system. We support efforts that benefit the community—our Adopt-A-Family program and contributions to local pantries—as well as encourage responsible pet ownership through the discounted Spay and Neuter Program. Past efforts have resulted in the Children’s Playground. In 2009 we established a scholarship fund and awarded what we hope were the first of many scholarships.

The Civic Association counts on both the financial support of the community and the volunteers that take part in our projects.
